Why is choreography so important?
It is literally the lyrics of the song, the words of the play, it is the strategy of the game for the whole season and it can only be done at once for a team, it cannot be effectively spaced between 10 classes for instance with people missing and drop outs through the season.
Choreography is a one shot deal, if an athlete does not attend and we allow them to continue on that team, it’s like sending an actor onto a stage with no lines and expecting them to “just get it”. Except now, we’re throwing her in the air and she’s flipping head over heels… all without knowing what to do. Please do not ask us to do that to a child. It is our responsibility to keep the athletes safe. Inconvenience to you is not an acceptable reason to ask us to endanger the life of your child and others, please remember that.
